ADCOM 2015 – Call for Papers

The Advanced Computing and Communications Society (ACCS) in association with Indian Institute of Technology, Madras announces the 21st annual International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communications (ADCOM 2015) at Chennai during 18th -20th September 2015.

ACCS, a partner society of the IEEE Computer Society, is a registered scientific society in India founded to provide a forum to individuals, institutions and industry to promote and disseminate their innovative and pioneering work in Computing and Communications Sciences.

ADCOM, the flagship Systems Conference of the ACCS, is a major annual international meeting that attracts professionals from industry and academia across the world. ADCOM is a very successful and a highly rated event that draws leading scientists and researchers in computational and communications engineering.

ADCOM 2015 focuses on the growing importance of Large Scale Systems Engineering and provides the platform to share, discuss and witness leading edge research and trends in the development of Smart City Technologies.

Smart City projects are large scale expensive problems that require proven ICT technologies and compute power to facilitate advanced infrastructure such as back-end intelligent systems to manage traffic flows, video surveillance networks to handle public safety, and systems to deliver emergency healthcare to name a few. The vast volume of data generated by the likes of utility meters, traffic information from street sensors, or micro-payment data in mass-transit systems and such, adds to the enormity of data aggregation, storage and analytics to deliver real-time information to people and machines. The problem of efficiently supporting applications and services for Smart Cities in such complex, distributed and diverse environments is the subject of intense research today. Many of these solutions will herald a “Smart City-as-a-Service” option to city municipalities.

Universities and colleges are places where new ideas emerge. Academic research should be an essential part of any smarter city project to develop and evaluate impact of the innovation while the industry quantifies the benefits and provide a market validation of these ‘best’ technologies. Diverse teams of computer scientists, engineers, biologists, social scientists, economists, etc., working with equally diverse companies and cities are required to develop easily deployable, sustainable and affordable systems and solutions that benefit the masses.

ADCOM 2015 seeks researchers, engineers and practitioners to present state-of-art advances and innovations in the systems, infrastructure, tools and applications for Smart Cities and discuss future directions. The Conference calls for original, high impact research papers and case studies on all topics related to the development of Smart Cities but not limited to:

  • Innovative applications and services for sustainable cities
  • Communication technologies, architectures and wireless/mobile protocols
  • Near Field Communication and Wireless Sensor Networks communication technologies
  • Smart Grid technologies for full electricity supply chain – generation through transmission, distribution and metering to end users
  • Green and energy efficient technologies
  • Smart disaster management systems
  • Machine-to-Machine communications and mobile computing
  • Trust, Security and Privacy issues for Smart Cities applications
  • Quality of Service and Quality of Experience mechanisms
  • Data management and access methods
  • Business models, payment mechanisms and new services for Smart Cities

Important Dates:

  • Technical Papers Sought by 15 April 2015 10 May 2015.
  • Acceptance Communicated by 15 June 2015.
  • Camera Ready papers due by 15 July 2015.

Authors are required to submit their papers using EasyChair ( https://www.easychair.org ).
