  • ARM Student Design Contest on Smart Transportation Systems April 27, 2015 - The Advanced Computing and Communications Society (ACCS) announces the second edition of the ARM Student Design Contest on Smart Transport Systems as part of its 21st Annual International Conference on Advanced Computing and Communications (ADCOM 2015) at Chennai, in September 2015. ADCOM 2015 has a core theme in Technologies for Smart Cities, a theme to which Indian Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi has called attention.   • ADCOM 2015 – Call for Tutorial Proposals February 20, 2015 - ADCOM 2015 will be hosting a series of Tutorial Sessions (half-day). The Organizing Committee solicits proposals for tutorials for presentation at the conference. Topics of the proposed tutorials should be aligned with the topics in the call for papers for the main conference. Proposals must provide an in-depth survey of the chosen topic with the option of describing a particular piece of work in detail. A meaningful summary of open issues in the topic should be included.   • An interview with Dr. S Ramani - You are credited with playing a key role in getting the first internet connection to India. Tell us more about it. First, let me comment on my role in bringing the Internet to India. The ERNET project was unusually democratic; something that could not have been achieved by a one-man-show. What was done was less significant than the way it was done. Eight institutions, including the relatively new NCST, came together to contribute in any manner they chose to.
