Jailendra Kumar

President

Mr. Jailendra Kumar is the CEO of HighNorm Systems and Services Pvt. Ltd. His area of interest is Aerospace, Defence, Security, Semiconductors and Embedded systems. In the early days of his career he worked for ISRO participating in setting up a satellite tracking ground station, and thereafter for DRDO developing Robotic control and Aircraft Navigation and Control systems. Later, he headed the technology function for BAE Systems providing strategy for technology development, enhancement and monetization.

In Semiconductors domain, he has worked with Philips Semiconductors developing protocol stack for peripheral interconnectivity, and thereafter for Samsung Semiconductor establishing and heading their India Development Centre which has now grown into the largest overseas for Samsung. He has also co-founded Solex Semiconductor and HighNorm Systems & Services. Most recently, he was the CEO of Caliber Interconnect Solutions.

He has a Master’s degree in Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and a Master’s degree in Business from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, NC, USA. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, USA, Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), India and Life Member of Advanced Computing and Communication Society (ACCS). Ram Prakash Rustagi, PhD

Vice President

Ram Prakash Rustagi has an experience about 30+ years of R&D, consulting, Academics experience that spans Technology Startups, Research and Development organizations, Academic Institutions, and Software product development in start-up companies covering North America, Europe, South Asia, and India. Well versed with all aspects of Applications and systems development, including modeling, prototyping, and iterative development process. Hands-on experience encompasses Telecom Applications, fault tolerant computing, high availability, clustering and distributed systems with single system image, telecom switching and billing, and real time systems.

All the products developed have been in used in the field.

Also, consulted several global corporations and have been an invited speaker on Enterprise Networking, Public WiFi, and Cellular VAS Applications design, Application performance management and optimization.

 

Uma Mahesh

Secretary

Uma Mahesh founded Indrion Technologies with a mission to enhance quality of life through embedded solutions that ingrain context sensitivity into the applications/ecosystem. Indrion delivers comprehensive, customized, standard-agnostic, solutions with wireless-sensor-actuator-control-networks (WSN) intelligence at its core. Mahesh has been an integral, pro-active part of the Semiconductor ecosystem in India and has been a founding member of VLSI Society. He conceptualized and delivered innovative, ahead of the curve solutions for global markets in cutting edge domains. He has a proven track record of building institutions, make a difference to the cause taken up, particularly to the lives of the needy.

Mahesh earned his BTech from MNIT, Allahabad, MTech from IIT Madras and an MBA from IIM Indore.

 

Venkatesan Kannan

Treasurer

Kannan is a post graduate in Mathematics and a qualified Cost Accountant. He has been in the Finance industry for the last 32 years with wide variety of experience of working in Banks, NBFCs and BPOs. He is a leading expert in the areas of Financial Management and Strategy, Fund raising for various entities both in the form of equity and debt, Advisory for Corporate finance and Investment Banking, Implementation control systems and audit control and Compliance.

Kannan serves as a part time CFO for start-ups to help them to get seed capital and also guide them to go to the next level in terms of revenue, valuation and structuring investments.

Saragur M Srinidhi, PhD

Saragur Srinidhi earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, USA in 1992. He was a Telecommunications Consultant with British Petroleum at Cleveland, Ohio and later with NASA’s Lewis Research Center at Cleveland where he was a Senior Consulting Engineer with the High-Performance Networks Group. He was the Principal Investigator for NASA’s Advanced Communications Technology Satellite (ACTS) experiments and was recognized as a pioneer in hybrid ATM networking over satellites. Saragur has extensively worked on prototyping wide-area ATM networks in support of dispersed applications.

Dr. Srinidhi was the Country Manager for FORE Systems Inc., a worldwide leader in high performance networking products based on ATM technology and managed the business operations in the South Asia. He continued as Head of SAARC operations for Marconi Communications PLC after their acquisition of FORE Systems. He left Marconi in 2002 to establish a start-up company to design and develop a first mile access public Ethernet device.

Dr. Srinidhi founded Prometheus Consulting, a technology firm specializing in due diligence studies on technology, investment analysis and regulatory matters. He is recognized as an International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Expert in Telecommunications. He was the lead consultant to Center for Development of Advanced Computing’s (CDAC) National Grid Computing Initiative – Garuda. He served on the investment committees of UTI Venture Funds and Government of India’s Technology Development Board where he plays an active role in the identification and evaluation of investment opportunities.

 

N. Rama Murthy, PhD

Member / Editor – Advanced Computing and Communications

Dr. Rama Murthy was the Head of the Signal Processing Group and Additional Director in charge of Academic Collaborations at DRDO’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. He leads research in real-time DSP algorithms, Cryptography and VLSI architectures for signal and image processing. Dr. Ramamurthy started his career with the Indian Telephone Industries and later with the Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE) besides spending a few years as a visiting scientist at Concordia University, Canada.
He has a BE from Bangalore University, a ME from the Indian Institute of Science and a PhD from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, Halifax – all in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Ramamurthy is widely published and was the Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems and is the current Associate Editor for Journal of Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing.
He edits the Society’s technical publication Advanced Computing and Communications.

 

PVG Menon

Member

Mr. PVG Menon is a technology leader with over 3 decades of experience in the cutting edge domain of Electronics and Semiconductor technology. His experience spans both development and management of technology, running large P&L across multiple geographies, and Policy Advocacy at the highest decision making levels of government and industry.

Mr. Menon founded VANN Consulting Pvt Ltd — a boutique strategic management consulting firm specializing in Transformational Consulting for the Electronics, Semiconductor and ICT sectors. He was the National President of the India Electronics & Semiconductor Association (IESA) from 2011 to 2014. At IESA he championed “India First” for the domestic Electronic Systems Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) industry. Mr. Menon has rich experience in development, marketing and management of technology, and has worked with leading companies like Philips (later NXP) Semiconductors, Analog Devices, Siemens Information Systems Ltd. and CMC Ltd. He is an active Member of various Industry bodies engaged in formulation of Public Policy for the sector.

He was conferred with the prestigious Silicon India-Mentor-Graphics Award for Outstanding Leadership for the VLSI/ Embedded Systems Industry in India in 2013.

 

K. K. Subramaniam

Member

Prof. K. K. Subramaniam teaches at International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) and is an authority in the areas related to Open Source kernels, Embedded Systems, Virtual Machines, Object-based Computing and Computing in primary education.

Subramaniam founded Axcode Consulting Inc in 2005 to provide consulting services in new product initiatives that push the state of art in embedded systems. Prior to this venture, he served in R&D engineering for two decades in companies like Oracle, Novell and IBM. His hard-core technical expertise and customer focus won him the Novell President Award in 2001. On the social side, He also served on the BoD of Sikshana Foundation, an NGO in public education, visiting rural schools across Karnataka twice a week for over a decade.

He obtained his M.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and B.Tech (ECE) from UVCE, Bangalore University. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a Member of ACM.

 

Arulalan Rajan, PhD

Member

Prof. Arulalan Rajan, was on the faculty of National Institute Technology Karnataka, Suratkal and taught courses on DSP algorithms and architectures besides mathematical foundations for Communication Engineering. He is currently teaching at the Indian Institute of Science in their Continuing Education programs. His research interests are in the use of Integer sequence alternatives in signal processing applications like filter designs.

Arulalan earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

 

Deepak Sharma

Deepak is the Principal Service Management & Operations Consultant at Microsoft. He is a veteran of 25 Years in IT consulting, IT operations consulting, project management, product based start-up, people management, service delivery planning and management. Interested in innovative product and services development. He is certified expert in DevOps, ITIL Expert, ISO 20000, Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and Service Delivery Management.

He was with Quark earlier, wherein he managed their IT operations and was responsible for projects and consolidating of IT resources during the transition of the development Centre of Quark Inc. from Denver, USA to Chandigarh, India.

He was a lead consultant with Prometheus Systems and executed consulting projects ranging from network design/planning/execution to implementing network monitoring for the likes of Larsen & Toubro Limited (Mysore), BSNL’s Advanced Level Telecom Training Centre (Ghaziabad), ER&DC, Trivandrum (now CDAC), Canara Bank and Naval Physical Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi and NIIT, New Delhi. Prior to this, he was with Marconi Communications (formerly FORE Systems) as a Senior Systems Engineer and started his career with L&T as a Computer Engineer.

Deepak has a MBA from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and earned his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College.
