ACCS-CDAC FOUNDATION LECTURE AWARD WINNER FOR 2007
Padma Shri Dr. Vijay P. Bhatkar
Chairman, ETH Research Lab / DishnetDSL Ltd, Pune
was honoured with ACCS-CDAC Foundation Lecture Awards, 2007. Dr. Bhatkar is an Indian computer scientist of international repute and is best known as an architect of PARAM Super-computers, GIST multilingual technology and Education-To-Home (ETH) mission. Dr. Bhatkar is a Fellow of IEEE and holds active positions in several other leading national and international professional societies and task forces. Dr. Bhatkar is the founder and first Executive Director of C-DAC. He has also served as member of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet, IT Task Forces constituted to propel India as IT superpower.
Dr. Bhatkar has been honoured and decorated with several distinguished awards which includes ‘Padma Shri’, ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’, ‘Lokamanya Tilak’ Award of IIT, ‘Electronics Man of the Year Award’, ‘Priyadarshani Award’.
However, due to some unforseen circumstances, he could not make his presence felt in the event and receive the Award. On his behalf, the Award was received by Shri G L Ganga Prasad, President of ACS.
