About the Tutorial:
The Tutorial covers MATLAB Mobile, kNN model for Machine Learning, Deep Learning & Model Compression in MATLAB. The session will provide hands-on exercises to import PyTorch/TensorFlow models, perform object detection and visualization using ThingSpeak.

Dr. Nisha Chetana Sastry, PhD.
Education Customer Success Engineer, MathWorks India.
In her capacity as a Customer Success Engineer at MathWorks, Nisha
significantly contributes to the advancement of students,
researchers, and faculty across Karnataka and Kerala. She aids them
in excelling in their research, academic projects, and curricula by
leveraging MATLAB effectively. Nisha holds a bachelor’s degree in
computer science & engineering from BMSCE, Bangalore, and has a PhD in Computational
Neuroscience from the National Brain Research Centre, Manesar. Her research has been
dedicated to understanding the neural mechanisms behind mind wandering, lifespan aging, and
mental health disorders. Additionally, she has collaborated with the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation on projects aimed at improving the image quality of low-resolution MRI images. Her
expertise encompasses signal processing, neuroimaging, and the application of machine
learning and deep learning in medical image processing

Pradnya Gaonkar works as an Education Customer Success Engineer at MathWorks India (Bangalore office). In this role, she collaborates with educators, academicians, and researchers across the country to accelerate STEM education, research, and innovation through effective use of MathWorks resources. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Goa Engineering College, where she also briefly worked as a lecturer. She received her master’s degree and PhD from the Networking and Communication Research Lab of International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore. Her PhD thesis was focused on developing optimization models for energy efficiency and occupant comfort management in smart buildings. Previously, she has worked in the fields of sustainability and wireless communication for industrial applications at Siemens Technology and ABB Research, respectively. Her areas of interest are optimization, mathematical modelling, energy management, Internet of Things, and Sustainability
