Title: Brain-Computer Interface (BCI): Principles to Practice

Abstract:

Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is about enabling direct communication between the brain and the external device(s). The tutorial will delve deep into EEG signal acquisition, processing, feature extraction and translation of features into actionable commands. The commands derived from the signal processing operate external devices such as a robotic limb to complement human skeletal functions. Apart from the theoretical principles, the tutorial will cover live demonstration on a kit.

TUTOR:

Dr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi is the founder director of itie Knowledge Solutions engaged in imparting technical training and developing indigenous Bio-medical electronic products for over 17 years. He has a number of publications to his credit. He has been reviewer for IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering (TBME) and Journal of King Saud University- Computer & Information Sciences, and has been a Member, Board of Governors, IIM Bodhgaya (2018-19), Member, Executive Council, VTU Belagavi (2016-19), Member, Academic Council, Bangalore University (2014-17), Mentor, MedTech-STPI, GoI, and Member, Skill Development Committee, Central University Karnataka.

Title: IPR, Trademarks & Copyrights 

Abstract:

Session on IPR, Trademarks & Copyrights: The session would cover IPR Portfolio Management, securing domestic and international rights in Trademarks, Patents, Copyrights, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications. The session would also include carrying out due diligence through Trademark and Patent searches. Details regarding registration, prosecution, protection, enforcement and maintenance of all forms of Intellectual Property Rights and Domain name misuse would also be covered in the session.

TUTOR:

Amina S, with 25 years of legal experience, has evolved from practising as a litigator in Kerala High Court to become a partner at Puthran & Associates, specializing in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). She joined the Chennai based boutique IPR law firm in 2010, establishing its Kochi branch in 2018. Amina’s expertise includes IPR Portfolio Management, guiding clients in Trademarks, Patents, Copyrights, Industrial Designs and Geographical indications. Shei sactively involved in professional addiliations such as the International Trademark Associations (INTA) and has contributed to the field by publishing a paper in Metaverse and Non-Traditional Trademarks.
