ACCS-ARM Design Challenge 2017 on Autonomous Vehicle

Advanced Computing and Communications Society announces the 2017 edition of the All India design challenge for engineering students  ACCS-ARM Design Challenge 2017 (ADC 2017). ADC 2017 is made possible with the support of ARM University Program and NXP Semiconductors. TVS Motors, Hosur, is the catalyst for ADC 2017, with the theme of Autonomous Vehicle. This is the first edition of ‘TVS Young Inventors™’.

adc-young-inventor-poster-armADC 2017 is an opportunity for the students to develop Next-Generation-Automobile-Technologies for autonomous vehicles. Students will have first-hand experience to navigate the vehicles in tracks specially designed for the purpose.

Teams selected for the next round of the competition, will get to develop and implement their  concept proposal using an autonomous vehicle platform.  – YES, actually involves utilizing a moving vehicle-like platform that will be given to the teams to work on. Students will get real autonomous mobility experience.

ADC 2017 is open to students of final year engineering (B.E, B.Tech ) from across India, who will make their own teams  NOT EXCEEDING 4 members per team. These teams have to register in the prescribed format, along with the registration fees of Rs. 500/- per each member, and e-submit their proposals on Autonomous Vehicle by August 31, 2017.

Engineering plans and execution details of these concepts are to be presented by the teams to the jury during September 8th – 10th September, 2017, at IIIT Bangalore.  ADC 2017 teams for zonal rounds will be selected based on these reviews. Technical details crucial for making a proposal, process that will be followed through ADC 2017, are explained here (ADC 2017 – Autonomous Vehicle Kit – Information, Design Guidelines) please go through it diligently before beginning your participation.

TVS Motors will provide each of these selected teams with an Autonomous Vehicle Platform – a real life mobile Electric Vehicle Platform. The teams will also receive the ARM Cortex M4 platform kit and performance yardsticks to be achieved. The selected teams should develop their solution using these and demonstrate how their vehicles meet the goals they set out to achieve, during zonal competition round scheduled for 2nd half of December 2017. Finalists selected from these zonals will demonstrate their complete work during the finals at IQL, TVS Motors, Anekal, during March, 2018. The winners will be honoured with Prizes, Trophies and chances for Internship and placement at TVS Motors.
