Building Responsible and Trusted AI Systems

Abstract
Building safe and trustworthy AI goes beyond proper model construction—it must permeate every aspect from data collection to deployment. In this talk, we discuss different dimensions of Trusted AI and showcase our work related to foundational models (FMs). We explore how to infuse trust across the AI lifecycle and end with open problems that require community collaboration to solve.

Bio
Dr. Sameep Mehta is an IBM Distinguished Engineer specializing in AI at IBM Research AI. He also holds adjunct faculty positions at IIT Jodhpur and IIIT Delhi. His research interests include Foundation Models, AI Governance, and Meta Data Management. He has co-authored the book “AI for You – The New Gamechanger” for enterprise AI adoption. Dr. Mehta completed his Masters and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
