PhD Forum at ADCOM 2019 – Call for Submissions

The Advanced Computing and Communications Society (ACCS) is a registered scientific society founded to provide a forum to individuals, institutions and industry to encourage the promotion of advanced computing and communications technologies.

The PhD Forum@ADCOM is a short-paper session for PhD students to present and discuss their dissertation research with peers in the Computational and Communications Sciences. This forum is a platform that enables doctoral students to seek feedback on their research while allowing the industry an insight into academic work in progress.  Submissions are not restricted to areas related to the theme of ADCOM 2019 and could also include current research in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering and related disciplines. This Forum is one of our flagship events at the ADCOM each year and presents an opportunity to become part of a motivated special interest group of like-minded young researchers to meet leading scholars and prominent industry groups for post doctoral opportunities.

PhD students who have progressed significantly in their research areas (submitted their PhD thesis synopsis) or have at least one Conference / Symposium / Journal paper (either published or accepted) can submit a short paper for presentation at the meeting. Submissions should not exceed four-pages in PDF format of the dissertation or research (in two-column format, using 10-11 pt. fonts and single-spaced lines), including name, institution, advisor, contact information, as well as figures, and bibliography (if applicable).  Papers on topics unrelated to the dissertation will not be considered during the review process.  Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and available on an open-access digital platform.

  • Important Dates
    • Submission Deadline:   June 30th  2019
    • Notification Date:           July 30th   2019

Please Note:
Write the paper for someone familiar with your technical area, but entirely unfamiliar with your work. Proper spelling, grammar, and coherent organization are critical. Remember that the four pages may be the only information about yourself and your research available to the reviewers.

  • If the paper is accepted for the Forum, only the author (PhD Student) should make the presentation and register for the conference.

  • Title of the PhD Forum submissions must start with “PhD Forum 2019 – <title of your paper>”
